Request from Lake Scugog Camp
Lake Scugog Camp, one of over fifty United Church camps across Canada, caters especially to inner city, underprivileged children from the Greater Toronto area. Maple Grove has supported this camp for many years financially and in staffing the health clinic and as teen counsellors.
Two of the weeklong sessions each summer are for single moms and their children, allowing them to have a safe and enjoyable vacation together. The mothers have special evenings when they enjoy games and get to know each other.
The camp is asking for donations from us of small items such as soaps, books (adult and children), picture frames (photograph size), playing cards, candles, re-gifted items; hotel giveaways are welcome….
Donations received are packaged together to make up prizes for the moms’ games nights. They are truly appreciated!
Any donations can be left outside Bobbi-Jo’s office.
