About

Our Congregation

In 1955, under the sponsorship of St. John’s United Church, Oakville, Maple Grove United Church was formed as a new congregation of
170 people.

Today Maple Grove United Church treasures the active participation of adults, children, and young people. Before the pandemic, we had Sunday School, four choirs, dynamic outreach, and groups that deepened spirituality and broadened fellowship Currently, during the pandemic, we have virtual services linked to the Home Page, and Zoom meetings for the Council and its committees, the Chancel Choir, and Centering Prayer.

Mission Statement

Our mission as the congregation of Maple Grove United Church is to be a vital, active, caring Christian community, growing in faith by celebrating God’s love

The New Creed

We are not alone,
we live in God’s world

We believe in God:
who has created and is creating,
who has come in Jesus,
the Word made flesh,
to reconcile and make new,
who works in us and others
by the Spirit.

We trust in God.

We are called to be the Church:
to celebrate God’s presence,
to live with respect in Creation,
to love and serve others,
to seek justice and resist evil,
to proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen,
our judge and our hope.

In life, in death, in life beyond death,
God is with us.
We are not alone.

Thanks be to God
