God Invites Us To Gather
Words of Welcome
- Welcome to worship here at Maple Grove United on this Canada Day long weekend!
- It is good to see you all.
- Welcome to our summer worship – I will be doing a sermon series on Water and our Faith throughout the month of July, I hope you enjoy it.
- My name is Rev. Jessica McCrae and I am so happy to be leading this time of worship with you along with our music director Dr. Deborah Henry
- If you would like to make a financial donation to the ministry of this church you can leave a donation on the plate near the back of the church, where you entered … If you are worshiping from home and would like to make a financial offering to the work of the church please do so through e-transfer, Canada Helps or with donation brought to the church. If you would like to know more about going on PAR (pre-authorized remittance) I invite you to talk to Paula Warden directly or go through the office.
Our Christ Candle is lit. We give thanks for the light of Christ in our life and in the work and worship we do together. If you are at home I invite you to light your own candle to celebrate the light that lives in our world. Let us prepare our hearts and minds for our worship, as we listen to our prelude.
Prelude:
Acknowledgment of the Land –
Today we are worshiping on the traditional lands of the Anishinaabe, to the Attawandaron and the Haudenosaunee. These are the treaty lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit. The indigenous people have had a deep connection to the land as well as the waters in this area – Lake Ontario, Sixteen Mile Creek, The Credit River and all of the creeks and tributaries that flow through this land. We acknowledge the relationship the first peoples had with the land and waters here and we acknowledge the importance of these continuing relationships, and the relationship between all peoples.
Call to Worship
God of the prophets, call to us today.
Call us into Your ways of love, justice and righteousness.
God of the poets, remind us again how much You love us.
Sing to us Your ways of love, justice and righteousness.
God of the disciples, teach us how to follow You.
Sing to us Your ways of love, justice and righteousness.
God of all creation, help us to know Your ways.
We gather to hear Your call,
To sing Your praise,
To teach each other,
To pray and worship as Your people.
Let us do just that! Let us worship our God!

Prayer of Approach & The Lord’s Prayer
These prayers we bring in the name of Jesus who taught us to pray together saying
Our Creator
in heaven
Hallowed be your name
Your kindom come
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who trespass against us
And lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil
for yours is the kindom
The power and the glory
Forever and ever
Amen.

Prayer of Confession
Loving God, You know each of us.
You know our in ost wounds, our deepest hurts.
You know where we have been wronged
And You know where we have wronged others.
Forgive us when we have held on to hurts rather than sought healing.
Forgive us when we have harmed others.
Call us into healing and teach us how we might bring Your message of hope and healing to the world.
In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.
Assurance of Pardon
We are forgiven, because we are loved. You are forgiven, because you are loved. You are precious to God. Even when you falter, even when you make mistakes. You are God’s child, the beloved; with you, God is well pleased. Amen.
