There is a benefit concert happening at St. John’s United Church (262 Randall St. OakvilleFriday February 23 at 7:30 pm. If you haven’t yet heard the Oakville Children’s Choir, you will be blown away.
Also performing are tenor Mervyn Russell, soprano Charlene Pauls and pianist Herb Williams.
The tickets are only $20 ($15 for students).
This is an important fundraiser for Oomama, the local grandmother group within the Grandmothers to Grandmothers (G2G) Campaign, which supports the work of the Stephen Lewis Foundation.
The G2G campaign helps African grandmothers who are left to care for their grandchildren orphaned by the AIDS pandemic.  So when you buy a ticket, your money ends up helping those African grandmothers and their grandchildren.
