Understanding and Improving Our World

Maple Grove United Church from time to time works with other faith groups in our community to spread the word on good ideas underway elsewhere. Here is a great virtual Speaker Series that you can sign up for free being organized by Glen Abbey United Church. The first topic provides insight into Halton’s Indigenous people’s history and is being held just before the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation holiday on September 30th. Details on this and subsequent events as well as how to register are included below.

Speakers:  Jody Harbour and Sherry Saevil from Grandmother’s Voice

Topic:  Halton Indigenous People’s History

Overview:  Jody and Sherry will provide background on Oakville’s Indigenous People’s history. They will provide information on the origin and current work of Grandmother’s Voice. They will also discuss practical directions to respond to the Truth and Reconciliation Report.
