Successful Outcome of Chair Replacement Project!

Update – Chair Replacement Project.

Thanks to all who have submitted their contribution so far.  We are anxious to move this project along, so if you have not yet dropped off or mailed your cheque to the church, please do so soon as possible.   Don’t forget to write on the cheque ‘CHAIR PROJECT’.

For anyone who was not aware, the Men’s Breakfast Group is sponsoring a project to replace the old steel/wood non-folding chairs in our gym with new folding steel/fibreglass chairs made by Lifetime,

LOVING GOD, LOVING NEIGHBOURHOOD – UPDATE

At the June 18th AGM, the congregation was updated on our progress of the United Churches’ Loving God, Loving Neighbourhood initiative. If you wish a copy of the update report from the AGM it is available from Dorothy Gartshore at gartshore.d@gmail.com. This initiative, which started with the Identity, Mission & Needs Analysis survey, focuses on strengthening the bond between individual United Churches and their surrounding communities.

What’s Next: As of June 25th we will have completed our Table Talk sessions.

Loving God, Loving Neighborhood Special Drop-in Table Talk Session

When: Wednesday June 14th, anytime between 7:30 and 8:00 p.m.

Where: The Friendship room at Maple Grove United Church

Who Should Attend: Anyone who wants a say in the future of Maple Grove. We especially want to see teenagers, young adults and those who have not been able to attend worship on a consistent basis.

Famine Relief Fund – Canadian Government Matches

Through its Famine Relief Fund, the Canadian government will set aside one dollar for every eligible dollar donated to the Extreme Hunger Appeal from March 17 until June 30, 2017. Eligible gifts to the United Church must meet the criteria established by the Government of Canada. Watch for more information to be posted here.

HALTON INTERFAITH PEACE CAMP

August 21-25, 2017 

  • An all-day (9 a.m. – 4 p.m.) day camp
  • inviting children of all faiths from Grades 1-8
  • to experience fun learning, crafts, games
  • and day-trips to various houses of worship in Halton Region.

Thank you to all our church members who stayed after services last Sunday to listen to the IMNA results presentation. Based on the number of bodies in the pews it’s obvious that this was of great interest to the congregation. Here is a quick summary of the results:
