Community Vegetable Gardens Now Open!

As of October 11 we are opening the gardens to the local community! Come Tuesdays and Fridays from 2:30 – 3:30 pm or Saturdays from 10 am – 11 am to pick tomatoes or spinach, chard and kale without charge.  If you can, please leave a free will donations to help us expand the gardens next year.

This week 15 children (and 2 teachers) from the Western Heights Montessori Academy & daycare at Maple Grove United came out to help harvest and take home a bundle of spinach, chard and kale. They had a great time and were excited to take home the individual bundles they had picked.

A huge thank you to the volunteers at St Cuthbert’s Anglican Church and at Maple Grove United who have been busy harvesting and delivering fresh produce to Kerr Street Mission and to Fareshare Food Bank who are so delighted to have fresh vegetables for their clients.

Please consider joining us if you can – only 30-45 min once a week will help us to weed, water and harvest the crop.  We’d love to have you help us show God’s love for this world in this unique way!
