Carol Heimbach and Wendy Duff, having recently volunteered to lead the team of volunteers at Maple Grove United Church (MGUC) in providing food for low-income and at-risk families at Kerr Street Mission, got off to a lightning fast start by preparing and providing 50 meals last Thursday at Kerr Street Mission (KSM).
This program has been in place for some time between KSM and a number of groups including volunteers at MGUC. Due to covid-19 restrictions a smaller group is currently involved and prepares the meals at KSM’s kitchen and then packs those meals in take out containers to be given out by KSM.
Carol commented:
‘It was really quite moving to see the lineup of people last night, in the cold, waiting for their meal.’
