The last few years have been hard on many families. It has given us the opportunity to reflect and focus on what is important in life. The smile on a child’s face on Christmas morning is priceless especially when they are children who would normally go without. Maple Grove United Church will be partnering once again with Kerr Street Mission to bring a merry Christmas to those who are less fortunate. We ask that you give what you can to ensure these children have a new pair of pyjamas and socks waiting for them on Christmas morning. There are several ways you can help:
Option 1 – You can buy the pyjamas/socks. Please leave them unwrapped, along with the invoice and your name:
– in the Church office reception area
-or under the Christmas tree in the foyer in the box marked “Pyjama donations”
Option 2 – You can donate with a cheque or cash:
– by noting your name and “pyjamas” and leaving it in the Sunday offering plate
– by noting your name and “pyjamas” and leaving it in the Church office
– by an e-transfer to mgucbookkeeper@cogeco.net (please include your name, address (for a tax receipt) and “pyjamas” in the message box)
For either option 1 or 2 the amount will be added to your year-end income tax receipt.
Please pick an ornament with the child’s size and gender from the Christmas tree in the church lobby and ensure all pyjamas/socks or donations are in by December 4th at the latest to allow time for your generous gifts to reach families before the holidays. We thank you once again for your kind support of this program and helping Kerr Street Mission ensure these children have gifts to open on Christmas morning.
