The Peace Camp will arrive for 10:30 a.m. and leave around 12:30 p.m. If you can help, contact Andy: email@example.com or call the church office: 905-845-5721
Andy is also requesting a couple of large picnic coolers to use for the week for the Peace Camp. The Peace Camp is from July 29 to August 2.
PEACE CAMP – July 29 – August 2
Last summer’s Peace Camp was a resounding success, so the Interfaith Council of Halton is once again sponsoring this fun, affordable and educational opportunity for children in Grades 1 to 8.
Registration details will be available soon
Contact Andy King for further information:firstname.lastname@example.org or 905-845-5721 x 223
Once again, we are requesting donations of small articles, such as soaps, shampoos (hotel and resort items welcome!) photo size picture frames, children’s or adults books, regifted items, jewelry, playing cards, anything is acceptable!
MGUC has long supported this United Church summer camp for inner city children and CAS referrals.
The difference among other camps is the two sessions offered to single moms and their children. Some of these women come directly from shelters. The camp offers a week long opportunity to spend safe and quality time with each other and with their children.
Request from Lake Scugog Camp
Lake Scugog Camp, one of over fifty United Church camps across Canada, caters especially to inner city, underprivileged children from the Greater Toronto area. Maple Grove has supported this camp for many years financially and in staffing the health clinic and as teen counsellors.
Two of the weeklong sessions each summer are for single moms and their children, allowing them to have a safe and enjoyable vacation together.
